Quotations

Aragorn “Show no mercy... for you shall receive none.” Two Towers – Refers to the principle of street survival of no mercy.  This attitude must be in you when you decide to fight.

Qui-Gon Jinn: “Remember your focus determines your reality.” Episode IRefers to the concept of concentrating on a single thought, when it comes down to fighting, I want to go through my opponents center, I’m not concerned about anything else or what he’s doing.

Maximus Decimus Meridius “At my signal, unleash hell?” Gladiator – In street survival the intent must be there.  It’s like having a gun, but not being able to pull the trigger.

Frodo “It's a pity Bilbo didn't kill him when he had the chance.”
Gandalf:  “Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.” LOTR
While Wing Chun gives you the ability to fight, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to.  Above all things skill in avoiding confrontation is what you develop.

John Mason “Never hesitate.” The Rock – When the time come the decision to fight or run has to be made in an instant.

Yoda “You must unlearn what you have learned.” Empire Strikes BackWing Chun cannot be mixed and match with other styles.  The best way to learn quickly is to start from scratch and be open to what your teacher is saying.  Let go of your ego and you’ll develop much faster.

Luke Skywalker “All right, I'll give it a try.”
Yoda “No! Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.” Empire Strikes Back –
An efficient art, that is efficient with its time. If you’re going to practice, do it right. 20 punches done correctly are better than 1000 punches done wrong.

Frank Castle, “In certain..."extreme" situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law. To pursue... natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive; it's an emotional response. No. Not vengeance. This, is punishment.” The Punisher Some times all you can depend on will be yourself and your skill.
