What to Watch

So Close - I’m not sure why American film makers can’t copy the formula of their Asian counter parts when it comes to female action stars, uhm, Catwoman, Tomb Raider, blaaah.  In So Close, you get 2 out of 3 hot chicks (Qi Shu and Wei Zhao looking smoking hot) starring in the movie, and have some pretty decent choreographed fighting scenes.  The story’s about 2 sisters who are thieves, and they take a book out of John Woo’s mental games when it comes to  battling a female detective.  Some Lesbian innuendoes are hinted at throughout the movie and this is definitely an unknown but worth while movie to watch.

Remo Williams - The movie itself cannot stand on its own when it comes to fighting.  And even the plot is on average for the most part, but surprisingly Remo Williams allows you to somewhat dream of the possibility that a Martial Art can go beyond the realm of believability and it still make it work.  The ability to dodge bullets, walk on water and float above ground.... heck, if you can do this, sign me up.

Naked Weapon - The super hot Maggie Q is in this movie and tells the tales of a girl forced into the life of an assassin.  Really, one of the better choreographed martial arts movies I’ve seen in quite some time.  And, in typical guy fashion the hotness factor doesn’t hurt while viewing it.

Seven Ninja Kids - 7 Ninja kids enjoyability really comes in the fun that in other countries they really have total disregard for children safety.  As these 7 kids are literally they’re own stunt doubles when it comes to doing dangerous stunts.  The movie plot is as bad as you can imagine, with a very cheesy repetitive but catchy Korean theme song.  Some of the kids are very skilled in what they do, but if you can sit through the movie without fast forwarding to the fighting, give it a go.

Kill Bill - All quentin did was literally translate an Anime cartoon to a real life live action movie.  While Kill Bill should’ve been really written as 1,  the execution of the movie is done well.  Many great scenes when it comes to just the words spoken, for example when the Bride goes to Japan looking for Hanzo at the Sushi resturant.  And the fighting for the most part gets a thumbs up from me, except when they made the mistake of allowing Uma to do her own hand to hand fight scene against Pai Mei.
