Here Sifu shows 1 of the 4 asking hand techniques otherwise referred to as man sau. This one is the double pak sau. In the video he tries to explain that the count is simply 1 and then 2 where the last pak involves the punch at the same time. Often times, people practice it, trying to do, 1 and 2 and 3 for this drill.
Single sticky hands is the first stage of actual chi sao. While this appears to be a simple drill, many advance techniques can be found in just learning how to do the drill correctly. Standard concepts of cutting edge, send back, and equalize and neutralize all should be developed here on a single hand. Also, learning to go with the force is not only developed when you block an attack, but also when you do an attack. The concept of balance is in all things that we do in Wing Chun.
Chi Gurk is sticky legs. Unlike stick hands stick legs development has nothing to do with making your opponent stick to your legs. Often many believe there are no kicks in Wing Chun, but that is not true, there are 8 kicks in Wing Chun as well as 8 developmental kicks as well. But kicks are secondary in the world of Wing Chun and are only used if the hands are not at a favorable position.
Learning to bridge the gap between chi sao and fighting can be a difficult process for Wing Chun practioners. While chi sao helps develop your sensitivity at close range, you still have to take the next step and learn how to converge the triangles between you and your opponent. This video shows how Sifu practices how to merge his structure with that of his opponents attack and once that occurs now they are in sticky hands.
Lop sau is one of the 3 hand exercises that helps to develop sticky hands. In this video Sifu is showing the importance of developing the bong sau correctly. In everything that we do in Wing Chun, 2 hands are always involved. While the wu sau is not touching in this drill, the structural integrity of the bong sau is compromised if the wu sau is not there and supporting it. Keep in mind bong sau is the primary block and wu sau is secondary, and is the stronger point supporting the actual technique.
